Inferential statistics: used to make generalizations and predictions about a population based on a sample of data

Correlation coefficient: (1) correlational research (2) scatterplot (3) positive/negative relationship between variables (4) strongest relationship = +1/-1, weakest = 0

Statistical significance: (1) experiment/correlation (2) tests the null hypothesis (3) if it's significant, then the null hypothesis is rejected, and the alternative hypothesis is supported
