  • Follow the cause→effect chain the author implies
  • Makes invisible reasoning visible; strengthens ability to reject broken chains
  • After each paragraph, draw arrows for cause → effect → implication.

  • Choosing an answer that reverses cause and effect or skips a link
  • Sketch the causal flow before answering—don’t guess from one clue
