Using Graphs for Predictions

learning_notes

Last updated: 8/16/2025

Key Concepts:

  • Finding Values from the Line of Best Fit – Estimate y-values for given x-values using the trend line.
  • Comparing Actual vs. Predicted Values – Determine how well a model fits the data by comparing predicted values to actual points.
  • Finding the Greatest Change – Identify the section of a graph with the steepest slope (largest increase or decrease).

Skills Covered:

  • Estimate the y-value at (x = 10) using the line of best fit.
  • Find the time period in which temperature increased the most.
  • Determine how many points have actual y-values greater than predicted.
